How are our friends in Iowa?

I saw that on the news, they had a large group of people
at the plant celebrating 70 years in business! wow some
timing.

Storm went about centered on my location here north east of Ottumwa, but no evidence of tornado. Lost two trees and lots of little limbs. Never heard a storm ROAR continously like it did. Could hear it coming for a long time, during and then long after it passed. No hail. Crops still standing, but how I don't know. No cloud to ground lightning. Got about an inch of rain in 15 minutes. We were lucky here. Roger

The Mahaska County fair was going on in Oskaloosa, just 16 miles southeast of Pella where Vermeer Manufacturing got hit. We were there for the beef show that morning and left about an hour before the storm hit. I heard they went into lockdown and secured everyone the best possible in that situation. Fortunately the tornado lifted and went over just a little north of town. Could have been a very bad story if it had hit the fairgrounds.

According to our disaster relief report they have people from 22 states there right now doing disaster relief, helping with clean up. They were asking for volunters to do chain saw duty. I think our food service trailer fed 1600+ people yesterday. I think more of gals were gonna run over tomorrow and trade places with the gals already over there. I know they were headed to Sams or Costco for more supplies before they left. Reports are, Lots of folks have lost their jobs and homes. I have not heard of any loss of life.
