Tire Weighting Question

I live in MidMichigan. I just emptied the calcium chloride out of my one Frod 2N rear tire. I have the other tire weighted with about 12 gallons of windshield washer fluid. The tractor is not used hard. Mainly try to level my driveway with it with the back blade. I don't do the greates job, haven't figured out the correct procedure. The other main thing I use it for is with the front loader to move snow banks back if we have a bad winter. I plow the snow with a 4x4 pickup.
Now for my question I'm going to just add water to the empty rear tire for now. If I only filled it up with the vakve in about the 10 oclock position and didn't take it out in the winter when it froze would it damage the tire? I don't mind a rough ride for the little I use it in the winter, I just don't want to ruin the tube, tire, rim or anything else.
Thanks for all your answers and help,
Bill

why not match it to the other tire with the same amount and same stuff??? why would you use water? makes no sense.

I agree, filling tire with water in Michigan is not good idea, FEL needs all the rear ballast it can get.

Put on a full complement of cast iron if you do not want fluid ballast.

yes it will probably leak when it thaws out , i put water in a set of tires for plowing one year forgot it was there & froze it leaked in the spring , had to dismount whole thing to repair & if it was frozen it will do lots of tube damage if driven. also a word about washer fluid it will turn to slush or freeze at extreme low temp & can cause damage to tube also. in your area id only trust calcium or magnesium mix. maybe youd be better off with no water & just adding weights , doesnt matter what brand if they bolt up.

Here again if you fix the leak right away they are not a problem with chloride. We run chloride in all our tractors have for decades. Still have the same rims they came here with. Some since the 50's some less time. All over 10 years.

With that much water, something will break when it freezes.

Try using a landscape rake on your road instead of the blade.

One problem with the cast iron is that there never was any made for that tractor. And I have never found any I could stubstitute the could be made to fit on there. There was a weight made for loader use that mounted inside the fender but i Think I have seen one or 2 sets of them at shows and they are about as scarce as hens teeth that a hen does not have teeth. And My tractor of that model has been with me for over 74 years. Calcieum and home made concrete wheel weights is only way to go and filled tires with 3-400# concret on each rear wheel and you are still spinning out. And how do you hang any weight on 3 point when you need that drawbar.
