Is this tire price crazy?

Front tire for Massey 1080 went while baleing yesterday. Tire has been ready to go for a while.
Called farm center (close to my house) this morning to see if they had any 7.5x18 Tri-ribs in stock- they do.
$255
Quick search of the net shows $110 at many places...

Local Ag tire center (considerably further) doesn?t open for an hour or so.
So while I am waiting to figure my move- what do you guys think...is $255 crazy or should I already be on my way over there so I am up and running before the other place opens.

Also. Here is the tire. It did not survive the drive back to home base...

Miller tire is at $165. If you are calling Hilltop Tire, they will probably be at around $200 mounted. I just paid them $81 for a 5.50x16 mounted.

Hilltop was $160 for a 6-ply, $125 for an 8. Mounted prices.
Don?t think I can beat those prices...
Waiting for a call back from Jeff at Macffaddens..,just on the off chance they have something nice hanging around loose since we need to go there today anyway...gotta pick up my little concrete mixer and my neighbors sickle mower he didn?t mean to buy. (His wife wants to kill him).

For that size tire? not really much more than they have been, tires are high priced just a fact, how many years did the old one last? spread that out over all those eyars and you have a cheap tire,, I am going to buy four new 23.1x 26 tires soon,, I would trade you and I would be glad to buy you a set heck even two sets lol seriously I buy tires every year for something on the farm,, implement tires I use a lot of are almost 200 a piece also,, and then I buy two to six at a time just a fact of running equipment I always tell my wife equipment does not run for free, be glad you only need the one you do I spend thousands at times when I need tires not because I like to but its a wear item,, lol

It is crazy.
Non farming friends are amazed by the number of wheels with tires here and how expensive they can be. Our saving grace is most of our equipment rarely sees pavement. But at any given time something needs a tire.
So far this hay season we have had to replace, 1 haybine tire, 1 Tedder, 1 tractor front - so, not too bad.

Looks like you've already decided. I was going to say to make sure you're comparing the same, or at least comparable brands. Cheap (china, india) tires will not last like good ones. Also, does that price include mounting, tube, disposal?
Any auction results to report from Saturday?

Prices were all over the map.

I got a plastic, electric concrete mixer (to replace my 70 year old cast iron one) for $25.
Neighbor bought a Massey sickle mower for $550. He thought he was bidding on a walk behind brush cutter.
I was in on a Brilliom 8? seeder but ended up at $3K

IH 510 grain drills for $710

Ford 4600- $7500
Ford 4610- $4500
Oliver 1850 has $1900
AC G- with plow and cultivator - $1900
David Brown 990 with loader for $1750
JD 4020- close to $10K

That is all that sticks out to me. There were a hundred or so sold.

Haybines were running. $1000-$1250 running.
Small square balers $1500-3500
Tillage stuff seemed low.

Just put on any wheel that fits and clears, go make hay. Order tires where you like to for your price comfort. So the axle sets a bit off for a day will not ruin the tractor or the tire.
Yup an 18 inch front tire is kind of an odd size so will be more money also a lot more tire there than in a 15 inch tire.

That price is way out of line. If I still had my tire shop a good 750X18-8 ply would cost you $99.98. That price is mounted + tube.
