Case sc no fire

Working on customer project
Tractor turns over good but no spark plugs are brand new I took each plug out and grounded it to the frame and turn the engine over to see if it had spark nothing, magneto looks brand new. also won’t to know the proper way to time this mag I’m assuming TDC on number one cylinder didn’t know what posistion the rotor in the magneto needed to be I’m use to doing distributors, wanted to make sure that I’m not messing up.

Very similar to distributor. Just make sure
that points aren't funky, they are gaped
right, and plugs in correct position. You
didn't say if this is a rebuild or not, but
I found that my mag had to be 1 tooth off
when mattress with governor to get it to be
timed right. Might have been just a bad mag
rebuild before I got it.

Also have had some mags that wouldn't spark
if they were dry. A little oil in the plugs
that say oil here made all the difference.

If there is a kill wire, disconnect it. If a kill tab, be sure it is not touching the case.

If it's been stored for a while, the points could need cleaning.

Pull the plug wire on number one and hold it 1/4" from the plug electrode. See if you get spark when number one cylinder (closest to the
radiator) comes up on compression. Can take the magneto cap off and clean the points and see where the rotor is pointing. Top right on the
cap is number one and 3, 4 and 2 in clockwise rotation.
