Oh so true. I just sent this funny off to my son. His oldest daughter eats and breathes horses and has t here of them to prove it. My son grumbles about the horses, saying they don't make any money.

hen she makes it to 20 without a drug or other problem that horse will be priceless.

Maybe that should say 110 or 120 years ago. By 1918 the Model had been in production for ten years. Ford had already sold 2 1/2 million cars as had the other car makers, so over half the families in the USA had cars by 1918. Time flies, I feel old.

My daughter is 13, she has 2 horses. They do cost a lot of money. She uses her own money from birthdays and such to help pay for foot care and such. She definitely has a passion for them. She is with them daily and constantly doing research on how to work with them. Anytime we don't know for sure where she is all we have to do is go look in the barn. It sounds strange but she is learning a lot about how to treat others from working with her horses. If she treats the horses like crap they don't cooperate. If she treats them they way she wants to be treated then they do what she asks. Of course we know they are animals and sometimes they have to know who is the leader of the herd but having them has helped her tremendously

Crai2 you could have been writing about my granddaughter. She will be 15 in a month but has had horses since she was 12. And yes she is learning people skills when training her horses. My son does make her work for her money too though grandpa here provides the hay.

I recall maybe 30 years ago going to a 4-H type local horse show and watching some of those young girls probably in early teens doing the barrel racing! Talk about being impressed with both the skill and courage of those kids! And people call them the weaker ones? They used real barrel not some flimsy cardboard or plastic ones! And the horses were pretty impressive too!
