I recently bought a used Vermeer 605F baler. The hydraulic tie arm was stuck so I took it apart, cleaned, lubed and put in new bushings. It now moves relatively well. However, it will only retract halfway across the baler before the twine tube hits and bottoms out on the starting roller. The adjustment slot on the mounting angle is of no help to keep this from happening. I don't understand how the previous owner tied any bales with it setup this way. The manual doesn't show how to adjust the tier. Could someone give me an idea of the path of travel for the arm. Is it supposed to extend between the starter roller and belt, or does it go in front of the roller?
