Kawasaki Mule problem

Saw the Big Red post and all the good replies, so thought I would try for info for my Mule.

2010 Kawasaki Mule Trans, supposed to be bullet proof, well they are not. Mine will sometimes start out and have no power, after running for 5 to 10 minutes it acts like it suddenly get enough fuel and the engine will rev and have power. I think it is fuel delivery, 1st year of the fuel injected gas engine. Dealer says it is clutch and does $500 to $800 repairs to clutch (3 times) and it might work for a month or two. Kawasaki says.... take it to dealer. I think it is a design flaw, remember it is supposed to be bullet proof. Outside of this recurring problem it is a great machine, but....I'll not buy another.

I am using 98 octane no ethanol gas all the time and Seafoam occasionally. The thing will lug along and suddenly almost spin the tires.... seems like fuel but might be clutching. One of the reasons I bought Kawasaki was because they had fool proof clutching.

You mean like race gas? That may be your problem. It probably doesn't have computer controlled ignition and O2 sensors like a car, so it can't recognize the higher octane fuel and advance the ignition. So it's driving around like the ignition is retarded too much.

If you think it's fuel delivery related, though, why not start replacing fuel delivery components?

No there so hard to diagnose.. but sounds like either a temp/timing sensor or fuel problem. Have you checked fuel flow, filters, tank nozzle for clogs. No matter how good it is, bad/wet fuel will take out the best. A clog knows nothing about quality. A mouse or rat will eat the wires off a good machine faster than a bad machine.

Unless your pulling heavy, dont see how clutch could be failing over and over?
