4x4 tractor tires changes

I think I posted something about this a while back but can't seem to find it. I recently purchased a 7700 John Deere 4x4 tractor and I want to change the tire size on the back to a wider tire. I have a set of duals for it that appear to have never been put on. The tires that are currently on the tractor are 420/80/46 the duals that aren't on are 380/80/46 when I get new tires I want to go to like a 480/80/46. I don't remember what's on the front I can look tonight. My question is if I got wider in the back how will it affect the front tires? I don't want the back pushing faster than the front when I put it in 4x4. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

Yeah but when you go wider won't get tire be taller too? At least on truck tires it will be taller. Say you have a 285/55r20 then you get a 295/55r20 the tire will be taller and wider. Not sure if it works the same way with tractor tires or not.

Talk to your local tire guy, if he's good they'll figure out what aspect ratio youll need for the wider tire to keep the rolling circumference the same so as to not cause 4x4 issues.

He's good but he said he hasn't ever had to do anything like that everyone goes back with the same size. This used to be a row crop tractor but now it's just gonna be used on our ranch. Of course everything I have has to be a pain. Ima call John Deere and see what they recommend. I'm from a small town so not a lot of people do stuff like this.

Here's a link to a chart showing the "rolling circumference index" for ag tires. All tires going across one line with the same RCI number are approximately the same overall diameter. You'll need your replacement tires to have the same RCI number as what you currently have to keep the four wheel drive system happy.
