OT travel trailer wiring help

Greg is correct, 30 amp rv plugs are 110 volt.

In my younger days, I thought I knew it all.
I wired a plug for the travel trailer i was living in with ?two hots and a ground?. Never bothered to research it or learn about it...just assumed it was 220.

Plugging it in an immediately frying the power inverter, AC, and microwave was an expensive mistake.

Don?t know how I survived my younger years.

Greg's correct. It's ONLY the 4 prong 50 amp RV Plugs that have TWO legs of 120 VAC (typically Red and Black), Neutral (White) and Ground (Bare/Green), similar to 120/240 Single Phase Three Wire households, EXCEPT inside the RV Panel the Neutral and Equipment Ground Busses are separate and insulated/isolated from each other. If configured correctly it would be 240 VAC L1 over to L2, but L1 OR L2 would only be 120 VAC to Neutral. If wired correctly it would also read 120 VAC L1 or L2 to the Bare/Green Equipment Grounding Conductor, but that's another story.

Learn something new everyday here. I know all about 30amp 115,but I have never needed to know about the 50amp plugs. I am just a poor guy,I only have one A/C on my camper :)
