rotella oil question

I have some rotella t4 and t5. Would it be ok to use them both together when changing oil in my diesel? I have enough together for an oil change so that is why I am asking. Hate to throw the oil away.

Looks like T4 is standard petroleum oil, T5 is synthetic.

I would hesitate to mix them.

Probably be better to buy enough to use one this time, probably the T4, then next time go to the T5.

Just to be safe, read the specs, be sure they are approved for your application.

That's how synthetic blend oils are made. I'd be mixing them them together and using them. Hate to throw it out.

It is perfectly safe to mix the two oils! I wouldn't hesitate to do it! Won't hurt a thing!

Sure it's okay. You'll just end up with a synthetic blend, which you can also buy at the store.

Some synthetic and petroleum oils are not compatible. Do some research before mixing them. If they won't mix properly, the sludge result will destroy an engine. Will resemble 140wt gear oil rather than engine oil.

Perfectly ok to mix them. The t5 is a combo base/syn blend hd diesel oil, the t4 is an "improved base HD diesel oil" and the t6 is a fully syn hd diesel oil. All will mix ok. To meet the api specs, the t4 already is a very good oil. The better oils still meet the same specs. Oils above that are better for out of normal use, such as extreme cold, or extended change intervals, or volcanic explorers.

It'll probably be fine but I wouldn't do it why take a chance on screwing up a motor over a few dollar$ worth of oil?

I would use them. If you want to see if they will mix,just pour an oz each in a glass jar,shake them up and let them sit overnight.

Rotella is truck oil.

If T4 meets the specs for your engine, then there's no reason not to mix it with T5.

The T 5 is a blend not synthetic but T6 is full synthetic.

As long as you use the right weight it can be used in lawn mowers ,tractors,cars and trucks.

any (loose term) dyno oil and syn (PAO) will mix. Just read the labels.
