How many remember this dealer in NY?

I do. He dealt in used machinery as I recall. The fields around his place was littered with it. Back in the mid 70's in winter I spun my van into a yard striking a small tree pushing the fender back against the front tire. Since the road was snow covered I drove the van a half mile to Don's with that wheel sliding over the snow. Don loaned me a chain which I hooked to the blade of a bulldozer he had parked there. The other end I hooked to my fender. When I backed the van away from the dozer and the chain snapped taught it yanked the fender back away from the tire enough that the van was driveable. He didn't bat an eye or ask for any money. I thanked him and drove the van that way until it died.

Not from around here. I hope to see you on the 19th if my I can remember where your place is. I will fill you in on my auction results then.

I sure do but there isn't enough room or ink for me to tell it all here. LOL I still have the Massy Harris grain scoop that Carter gave me. Also have some post cards from Don Howard. That was a big time for us. We sold mowing machines in lots of 10 and side rakes in lots of 10 and plows in lots of 5 and don't forget the big scrap pile. LOL

Fred I also have a thermometer just like yours. If I knew how I would post the pictures on here. That Don Howard , Massy Harris grain scoop has been the subject of much discussion. Some thought that it isn't the real thing. But I had it looked into and it is the real deal. Of all of them that you and I did I would wish we could go back and do that one again. "Jack" . Old Scovy.

I've got one of those grain scoops too. Bought it at
an auction a few miles south of Don's old place.
