Today I finally mounted the 5' cutter on the new B3350 to try it out. (Love it!)

As expected, I will need front weights to use it in all the places where I plan to do so.

I have a complete set of 5 front weights and the front weight bracket for it (great CL find about a month ago) but have not yet installed any.

Knowing that I could not install front weights with the FEL in place, my plan was to install the front weight bracket (must remove the grill guard to do this) and leave it in place to serve as a bumper, FEL installed or not. Unfortunately, this is not possible, as not only the weights but also the weight bracket interferes with the FEL. I would like to avoid installing/removing both the weights and the weight bracket each spring/fall when I remove/install the mower and FEL.

Todays trial tells me that 3 front weights will suffice for my purposes.

The owners manual clearly states on page 58 that 3 front weights can be installed without the front weight bracket but that the front weight bracket must be used to install more than 3 weights. This is consistent with my L6060 (4 weights can be hung on the grill guard but the front weight bracket is needed to install 5, 6, or 7) or my B1750 (3 weights can be installed on the tractor frame without a weight bracket).

Herein, lies the dilemma. The grill guard for the B3350 has no provision for hanging any weights. Moreover, the front frame does not have the horizontal cross piece with holes to support the tab on the front weights and provide provision for the weight mounting bolts. Many other Kubota models do have this horizontal cross piece, which is necessary to mount front weights absent a front weight bracket, which has such cross piece.

Neither I nor my dealer know how to install any weights on a B3350 without the front weight bracket, despite what is clearly stated on page 58 of the owners manual. My dealer has been attempting to get information from Kubota about this for about a week without success.

I suspect an error in the owners manual but am not yet ready to throw in the towel.

Any thoughts?

if you only need 3 weights without the fel...why not leave the loader on, that's way more then 3 weights.

Just put some weight in the bucket. Sounds a lot easier than taking the FEL off & on and the weights off and on.
I had weights on my NH TC29 until I got a FEL, never needed them after that.

Dean after conversations with KUBOTA technical services everyone is pretty much in agreement that the manual page was a carry over from previous model that did allow that mounting. I will continue to investigate but looks like just leaving the loader on is the solution. If I find anything additional I will let you know but I am sure you dealer is also trying to satisfy you (his customer).

Thanks, jm.

Much as I expected.

Not a suitable resolution in my situation.

I will endeavor to find an acceptable alternative.

FWIW: Not looking for work arounds (various viable reasons).

Considerable research performed prior to purchase.

If Kubota owners manual not accurate will pursue alternative resolution(s).

Thanks for suggestions.

Ok. That kinds shuts down any thoughts or ideas I guess. Alternative ideas are out there, if you come back to trying to finding a solution.

You must need to maneuver in tight areas mowing so the loader comes off. That would be fair enough, if that is the reasoning.

would it help to load the front tires and/or if possible add front wheel weights in place of front mounted weight?

drop bucket off of loader in off season and put on in loader season. The frame will be all you need and not bounce to kingdom kong if the bucket is removed.

I'm considering taking my grill guard to a welder/fabricator to have it modified to accept 3 weights.

Puzzled as to why Kubota does not do this as OEM.
