Stuck shaft

Anyone have a mixture they used to unseaze a shaft. My dad has a woods finish mower that the pto shaft has seazed up and will not slide in and out. Put a comealong on it and it would not budge. Have it soaking in PB blaster but if there is a better product let me know.

Keep soaking unless you can get it apart and put it in a press you can also beat on along the shaft with a hammer will help

Try warming it up with a torch if you can. As it cools it will suck the PB in better than when ambient.
Have also used a 50/50 mix of acetone and atf in a pinch.

You sure that the shaft does not have a slight twist in it? If it does all the heating and snake oil will not solve the problem long term. If you do not mind the risk of breaking a yoke and cross or two you could try pulling it apart using a tractor along with another tractor, pickup, immovable object.

It does not look like it has a twist, plus it was on a little 22 horse kubota, not sure it has enough HP to twist the shaft. But it has been sitting outside for quite some time. Dad is not able to do anything anymore, so I went up to mow his place and fix that finish mower.

Acetone and ATF 50/50 really seems to work best for me. Heat, if you have it. Yellow mapp gas cylinders really get things hot, and easily turn a 3/8 bolt molten. Give it a try

(quoted from post at 21:03:10 05/22/18) When you get it loose dont put grease on it. Grease is a sand magnet.

All of mine get some grease initially then oil after. I have never seen sand on the oil.
