Ford 9n has no spark

had that happen once all it was is that little pig tail spring that coil sits on was not aligned when I put it back on also check points , do you have power at the coil and points

Did you figure this out yet? I'm having the same issue with my 600. My issue was a 12 v conversion the resistor block was bad going to the coil.
I took it out and the tractor worked great for about two hours. Thought I burnt up the coil so bought a new 12 volt but still weak spark. Let me
now what you find.

"yes there is power to the coil and points"

How are you measuring power to the points?
Unlike the side mount distributors on the later 8N's, NAA's
x00's and up, you can't really reach in there and check it.

I would check for battery voltage at the top of the coil,
points open. Then roll the engine by hand until they close.
At that point, I would expect about half of battery voltage.

If the voltage doesn't go down, they aren't closing, not
making contact, or the coil pigtail/contacts aren't connecting.

If you don't have battery voltage when they're open, what do you have?
The actual amount of voltage. Half? Nothing? If around half,
the points either aren't opening or you have a wiring issue.
Test the wire to the top of the coil while disconnected from
the coil to tell if its inside or outside of the distributor.

If nothing, backup towards the key switch. A likely culprit.

P.S. Today's points are not of the same quality as the old ones.
Don't file them. Don't use sand paper on them except in an
emergency. If you do, buy a new set quick to have on hand when they fail.

You say you have power to coil and to the points. This may be a stupid question, but I know it's happened before. Did you put the rotor button back on when you replaced the points? If it's a front mount distributor, it's really hard if not impossible to gap the points with it on the tractor and it's a simple thing to remove and re install, it can only go back on 1 way.
