Oil pan and engine front cover have to come off, as oil pump bolts from front to first main bearing cap.

I'm curious, may I ask why the oil pump needs to be replaced?

Hi, Did this happen all of a sudden? My first guess would be dilution of the crankcase oil by Diesel fuel leaking from the front seal of the injection pump. Pull out crankcase dipstick and check if it is over full and smells like Diesel fuel, if yes I would suspect leaking front seal of injection pump.

Hi, how many hours on the tractor? Are you the original owner? Not a typical problem for these German engines unless very high hours.
Did the oil pressure light come on at low idle? You connected the oil pressure gauge into the top of the oil filter holder where the oil pressure sensor switch was connected?
Any possibility of the replacement of oil filter is bad?
Sorry for all the questions but it not typical of these engines unless they are worn out.
