Howdy! I have just purchased a New Holland 1100 Hydrostatic swather. It has 2800 original houres, 14 foot header, and ac. The old owners put a new cab kit in it. Everything seems to work on it, im wondering what are some things to watch. Ive filled up all the reservoirs and am working on changing filters and engine oil. Even though the hydraulic/hydrostat tank is full (with the manufacturer recommended Dexron 2 oil) When its moving and I go to make a turn it still screams like its out of fluid. is this a characteristic of these models? Im hoping this works out and I can cut off some major time from mowing.

Thanks everyone!!

The old hydrostatic drives tended to be pretty noisy . I think if you tear the manual you can probably run 30wt engine oil in the system and that would help cut the noise down some over the atf

I have 912 hydrostatic drive with the vickers hydrostatic in it and I notice that NH changed to a cessna system dont know why maybe a better system but mine is loud and it sounds like the relief valves are leaking and the book says do not shim thembut replace them so I am searching for the relief valves now

If I were you I would work it for awhile and then dump that hydro oil. Yes it will cost some $$ but those hydraulic motors are just stupid expensive.
