Building the new LI axle

I am getting back to working on it.

The main axle has the holes bored for the spindle housings, then are 10 degrees tapered out at the bottom and the ends cut the same 1/2 past the openings.

I got the top cleaned up on the spindle housing, now to make the bottom with the thrust bearing. I did get the lower caps off the old axle. I really want to convert axle to thrust bearings, so will make longer ones on the lathe so the thrust bearing can fit.

The main axle is 2 1/2 inch schedule 80 and the spindle housings are 1 1/2 inch schedule 160.
