I was in TSC today. I need 10 gallons of 80W-90. $64.95 for 5 gallons, WOW. Last time I looked it was under $40.

The going rate has been around $65 for some time now.
I bought two 5 gallon buckets at Advance auto about one month ago.
It was in stock but I bought it online and saved 20%. Picked it up later the same day.
Counter guy told me that some folks come into the store to check stock then go outside to their vehicle and order online to get discounts before walking back inside to pic up their purchases.

Take a look at what has happened to steel and welding supplies. 30% jump. Gas has also jumped to over $3.00 per gal.

Look at the price of parts...needed a tractor starter for a 400 round nose Case. Bought the same one 5 years ago under $75. Today the cheapest I found was $178.

Try buying meds. I bought a bottle of pills two months ago. 21.95 same bottle today was 49.95.

It has everything to do with the Federal Reserve creating digital "money" and pouring it into the economy. Inflation is an increase in the money supply and rising prices are the result. Gold and silver are money. When you compare the prices of things years ago vs today you will notice that almost nothing has gone up in relation to gold. When you bought that T model for $500 gold was $20 per ounce. That is 25 ounces of gold. With gold at $1,400 per ounce that model T would be $35,000 in today's dollar. To keep it tractor related, the same principle applies. If gold were still $20 per ounce, that shiny new tractor would be $1,000. Matter of fact, with modern manufacturing, it would be a lit cheaper. That is why the T model got cheaper every year. Debtors love inflation. The fact that the US of A is the largest debtor in the world guarantees that they will encourage more inflation. Why, with bonds at 2% and inflation at 3%, the Feds make money.

That is an unnecesssary and idiotic thing to say. The price has been climbing for weeks. But since you brought it up, thanks be to God that we have an someone in charge willing to rescue our country.

Wow. You guys are so smart. You know all of the little details of international treaties and agreements and what their effects are. Why, you even know more than the folks that wrote those agreements.
Well, I, for one, do NOT know that much about those agreements or treaties. And, I am willing to let our leaders deal with all of that. They have access to more information than you and I will ever know. So, I will not sit back and "second guess" everything that our leaders do. Especially not on a tractor forum.

Finally someone who knows history. Sadly Civics and U.S.History hasn't been taught in Govt. Schools for at least 50 years. Also sadly most Americans have bought into the lie that you can have something for nothing and use credit to buy it.
Only the Federal Government can create inflation. There in lies the problem. Every year 535 sell outs lie when they swear to uphold the Constitution. All you can do is keep your powder dry and stay out of debt.
