Cute as a button Cub Cadet

Picked this up at a local sale. Had the chance to talk to previous owner's daughter, who told me her dad parked it inside about ten years ago. All gas was drained, tank was bone dry. Her dad passed away and no one had a need for the little cub. Came with original owner's manual. Last weekend I bought a new battery and put some gas in. Fired right up, runs great.

So cute is right. That would be wonderful to take to a tractor/
machinery show. There are lots of collectors for them. Please don't
mess it up cause it looks like it is in excelent shape.

Jeffcat I like to keep things original unless they're beyond hope. The previous owner kept this one in really good shape. I plan no modifications. Will probably load it in the truck and bring it out to the steam show in July. A lot of ppl like these little tractors. You see a lot of them there.

That is sure nice. My Dad had one like that. He had a full set of implements for it. He grew a huge garden with it every year and worked full time.

Pop loaded fluid in the tires of his and added tire chains. I built a series of tillage, cultivating equipment for it. It was a little workhorse. gm

WOW, that does look to be in very good original condition.
42" mower deck
optional wide front tires
and original seat has no cracks!!
still has original engine too.

My first lawn mowing was done on my Dads brand new Cub Cadet 125 just like yours.
Since then I have mowed grass for 48 years on the 125 then three different 127's.
My current 127 is now 48 years old and going strong.

If you ever should decide to let it go, please remember me!!

That's a beaut!! Have a 105 my dad bought new in 69 absolutely identical can't remember it when it last looked that good. Only made the 105 for 1 year. The 10 horse Kohler not quit enough for the hydrostat. The 12 was perfect Mine had a 14 horse transplant after about 30 years. Original owner couldn't have had a kid like me running it or it wouldn't look that good.
about 20 years ago i stuck 2 pennies in hydrostat spring linkage to
eliminate the creep which a lot of them had, and it's still going. That look like it's good for another 50 years. Nice find 8)

n very good original condition.

Thanks--I measured mower deck from edge to edge, came up with 48". Does that sound right? Not sure how mower deck dimensions are calculated--maybe cutting swath as opposed to the actual size of the deck?

I'm guessing the original owner used it only to cut grass. Otherwise there would most likely be some implements or attachments that came with it. It was a nice find, rare to find one in good, original condition.

Yes, length of the three blades should ad up to 42".
Visually the 48" deck is different than yours as the gage wheels are on a bracket that is welded to the deck.
And the yellow spindle covers only have one zerk fitting access, hole. Yours has two as those covers were also used on the 38" deck. where the spindles would have been under the other zerk hole.

Ok, thanks for the info. Good to meet someone knowledgeable about these tractors. I've been using it occasionally and only issue so far is when I switch it off the carb will start dumping fuel out the throat if I don't turn off the tank petcock right away. I'm guessing carb float maybe stuck? When I have some more time I'll take off the bowl and see what the issue is. Doesn't leak while it's running.

Maybe just gummed up a bit after sitting so long.
Or a bit too much of the white oxide that forms inside when dry a long time.

Those guys would drool profusely with a picture of it.

And answer anything you need to know.
