I am looking at a 1979 Lahman 24hp Little Dipper skid loader with newer 24hp Honda motor. Newer paint, recently rebuilt pump, good tires. 2 buckets, 44" and 60". The guy is asking $5500. It looks like a really nice machine, but as I have researched price seems high - looking for input and reviews.

Cool machine! I roto till the founders nephew's garden out here every year. We had a Lahman stack mover for years back in SD.

I've never heard of this brand before, but let's look at what this li'l machine has. First of all, a new Honda 24hp engine seems to cost over $1,500. It comes with 2 buckets; one has a grapple. Has new paint, new tires, new seat, even looks like all new decals. I see the engine has two new mufflers as well.

It may be slightly on the high side, but you have to figure out if it fits your needs. It's smaller, so it will get into tighter places. It's not so common, so what about replacement parts?? It appears the machine is in good, working condition and possibly without any leaks. Don't forget to figure in time/labor into the job. If you need a smaller machine that is ready for work and it suits your needs, I say go for it. ...That is, unless your area is full of other possible machines in that condition and price range.
