Brass bushing?

Hello all, I've attached a picture of my hydraulic top cover. My gasket blew right where the fluid transfers from the tractor case to the top cover. Has anyone ever fashioned a thin-walled brass bushing that would fit in the hole at this location that would extend a quarter to half inch on either side of that surface to take the stress off the gasket? Maybe something I'll explore fabricating because both surfaces seems straight and smooth and the bolts were torqued.

That's how Ford did it on their 1965 and
newer tractors. They used a steel tube with
an oring on both ends. It extends about 3/4"
above and below that seam.

If you have access to a Bridgeport mill, could you could cut an oring groove in the cover?

Then the oring would make the seal instead of the gasket. Could possibly eliminate the gasket and use sealer.
