Last week while on I71 north of I270 I couldn't help to notice all the trees with white blossoms. They seemed to be growing wild, they were everywhere. They looked similar to flowering pears. Anyone no what they are?

Were they really trees or just a bush like thing about 5-10 feet tall? If more like a bush shrub deal with white blossoms and a sweetish smell. Probably wild olive. We have it here in MI. Very proliferate invasive problem. tough to kill also.

I?ve noticed them more this year there every where there not Bradford pears but don?t know what they are

Yes Bradford Pear.used almost exclusively in the landscape industry, business parks and residential areas. However the State of Ohio has given them five years and then a total ban. Invasive species

It seems too early for it to be locust or cherry. Both very widespread in Ohio and Kentucky, both bloom white.

Probably Bradford pears. . One way to tell is BP's grow in a pear shape naturally. Dont require pruning. They last about 20-25 years and are very brittle.

If it is low growing and bushy (less than 15 ft tall, dense limbs) it is likely bush honeysuckle. An aggressive trash invasive species that will take over if you give it an inch. Blooms early, leafs early. Not a nice plant.
Here in Kentucky it has taken over the edges of the interstates. We tax payers get to pay to have the highway contractors cut,dig and grub it out along the roadways.
