Should I fix it?

Was working on my 1030 tonight and saw this. What do you think? Will it last the year, or should I replace it now? I'm thinking it might be worth leaving it just to see how long it will last. Lol

Is that because it is the wrong hose for the job? Oil broke down the rubber. I know some types of oil can be brutal. Even worse is heating oil and kerosene. Vinyl hose turns very hard and brittle in just a couple of days. Found this out two years ago.

Had a very similar "aneurysm" on the hyd pump suction line on my Minne-Mo U.

Though the bulge never grew larger - and it never leaked a drop - I finally broke down and replaced it after 8 or 9 years. (I delayed on account it required draining the reservoir then removing the pump to replace the hose...)

Leave it on there till you have to buy about 10 gallons of hydraulic fluid plus the new hose and the job of cleaning up the mess.

though it might be fun to leave it and start an exploding hose pool (we'll all buy tickets) I don't think you want to go there jon, that would be a mega mess to clean up

Had a valve stem look very similar on my f250 one time. Guy at time shop was terrified of it, it was near golfball size. I did not drive with it like that, lol

When it leaks will you just loose power steering fluid or does that hose carry hydraulic fluid? How many gallons of lost hydraulic fluid could you buy for the price of the new hose? Will running the power steering pump dry damage that pump?

I had a turbo to inter cooler hose that looked like that two weeks ago,I thought I blew a tire when it let go!

I'm surprized that no one thought about a fire, if that thing blows, spraying hot oil on a hot engine, your whole tractor could be a crispy critter, your call.....
