Hey all, I bought a Jim Dandy with a plow, and plan on using it to plow snow. I was wondering if anyone can give me any info on it based in a picture of the serial number plate ? Any help would be appreciated. Also had other pics if need be. Thanks

Pictures are always a great help. Your tractor is a 1958 according to Power King / Jim Dandy site. 1958 serial #'s are 5434 thru 5972, in addition Jim Dandy tractor consists of 4 digits. The first 2 digits are the rear wheel size, the second 2 digits are the engine horse power. Sorry can't tell you any thing more from the serial tag.

Hi as posted your JD is a 1958 model year OEM engine would have been a 9 HP B&S it wasn't until 1978 that EPCO (Engineering Products Co.) used the rear tire size and engine HP model designation before that the tractors were either a Jim Dandy or an Economy Power King the Jim Dandy designation was used until 1978 when it was changed to a Power King 1612, JD's had 8"front wheels and Power Kings had 12" (but I have seen a picture od a PK with 8" front wheel

Thanks a again to both of you for your
knowledge. It's very much appreciated.
Hopefully it's worth what I have into it.
He has a set of chains to go with it, so
warranting I get it all cleaned up and
running, should be a plowing fool.
