Case IH Farmall 85C opinions?

There's one of these for sale at a dealer across the pond. We bought a NewHolland T4030 a year ago and between the front rims continually cracking and front wheel bearings and seals that won't hold up we may be looking to trade it for something a bit heavier. We need one that's rops because of several low doors and loader. The Case 85c looks like it's a chassis size up from the T4030 similar to a T4040? The 85 has eight bolts per rim vs 4 we have now and possibly a heavier axle? Would the 85 be heavy enough to stand everyday use and abuse loading manure and handling 4x5' silage on a daily basis or really not much better than we have now? The 85 is a 2013 but only has 5-600 hours on it. We're also pricing up a new John Deere 5085E,a Kubota M5 091 which I don't think is heavy enough either and a Kubota M6S 111 which is a beast. Thanks for any opinions. We absolutely love the 4030 but it's just not going to hold up like we had hoped.

I can't really help you on the tractor but I think you might be looking at the one for sale where I normally shop. Being a '13 it's probably the first year for having a DPF if that makes any difference. I've played around a little with the 75c (cab) and thought it was nice but the shifting wasn't near as nice as the M7060 Kubota. Good luck, Sam

Thank you. It's at Vanostrums farm equipment in Nova Scotia. I think the 75C would have the same chassis as our 4030? The first time we replaced a pair of hub bearings our local mechanic commented how narrow they are,we're now on our 3rd set between both sides and the bearings are just shy of $500 for the pair,if he can save the seals great if not that'll be another $300.

That's the one I was thinking of.

I was looking at a 75c at one point (not sure if it's the same as your 4030 or not) but we've stuck with a smaller tractor for now. At that time I'd asked the guys in the shop and heard they'd seen some front end work on them. Best of luck, Sam

I did some phoning this morning and it turns out the NH 4030 like we have the 4040 like my neighbours the CIH p75C and 85C all share the same front axle with the same bearings. I guess we'll pass on the 85C as its no heavier up front except for beefier wheels than our 4030. I guess we're down to either a 5085 JD a M6s Kubota or beefing up our own wheels at a machine shop and putting up with the light bearings.
