buying a tractor

I need some advice ,looking for a 80 - 100 hp tractor 2 wheel -cab - stander trans, I farm 75 ac and my small Fords and Farmall are not getting it , any advice

I would advise getting a new John Deere 6 series tractor. You will really like it. They are about $50,000.
Lots of smart guys on this site. Since you left out lots of important details, I suggested something I knew would work for you.
Maybe your budget is only $10K.
Maybe the nearest JD dealer is 200 miles away.
Maybe the newest machine you can afford is pre 2000.
Maybe you need a loader
Maybe you are a very good mechanic and can work on your own equipment
Maybe you cant
Maybe your 75 acres is in row crops and you will be doing tillage
Maybe it is in hayfields and woods and you will not need a machine suited for tillage
Be as specific as you can and you will get good answers.

look at a older one like 2-105 white etc ---jd is covered in electronics and the dealers cant even fix them ---we have too many around here that aren't right

You know I know Rrulnd , don,t know the Larry guy, but in my part of the country telling someone to buy an older white would get you a jail sentence, about the worst tractor around here as no parts support and know one owns them. You need to say how much you are thinking on spending then someone can give you a little advice but the always thing is dealer support where ever you are.

The new Holland?s the cases and the whites with electronics are no better with problems with the computers. A 1970 or 80 even into the 90s John Deere has virtually no computer junk on it just like the white doesn?t

I'll tell you Jerry, where those things are popular, finding one that isn't used up with a million hours on it is like trying to find a sharp original 4020. There just aren't that many to be had anymore.

There's a nice 2-85 high clearance on auction time close to me at $7000 now, has 1 hour left.

Ya I posted about it,never seen a white high crop before. I seen it when I was looking at a planter they had also. It was a real nice tractor ,brought $8800.

I had a 4010 for a few years, but not for farming with. Was a nice tractor. Would like to have a restored 4020 some day, though I doubt I'll ever be able to justify having it.

My vote would be for a restored 4020. Thing is, you have to be able to know when it's been gone over proper, and when it's only been covered in lipstick and mascara.

I've been in the after market tractor parts side of things since 2007 (dealership side before that). The X06, X66 IH have the most parts avaiable in the after market for the horsepower range you are looking for. The JD has almost as good, just not as many trans and shifter parts. I would pick the White because those are what I know best, but if you are starting from fresh it is different. Proper prior care is way more important than brand, a well cared for MF 1100 is a better buy than a run hard and put up wet 4020.

kubota is giving huge discounts and 6 or 7 years 0 interest, makes them at least worth looking at.not sure if i would bring one home but might.

I would look at an 11xx massey ferguson, they had the 354 perkins which were good motors that were easy on fuel. The mutipowers in these tractors were really durable. The only bone I can pick with these tractors is the hydraulics.

THANKS ALL , I am leaning towards a International 1066 or smaller 3 point , 2 hyd outles , PTO . Do not want one with torque converter . I was told that for 2 years they where made in Mexico and had no TC and a cab with no sides . They all break down , JD is the best for parts but all of JD is over priced, even that I do have JD implements .
Thanks again
