Classic Truck post.....Vacuum Brakes

I have entered a question on "Classic Truck Talk"...if any of you care to look and comment would be greatly appreciated. Also the reason why I dont enjoy the other posts- no traffic on them. Thanks:)

I have an old flatbed trailer that has a combination of vacuum and air brakes. Weird setup from time when a tractor might be either.

I think they also had a drain plug on one end of the diaphragm housing. If you unplug it and brake fluid comes out you have a leak in there. The hard pedal means you have no boost. A collapsed vacuum line going to the engine wioll give you a hard pedal also. It sounds like the hole in the diaphragm thing.

I would love to take part in the Classic Trucks forum, but for some unknown reason have been locked out. I've written to the moderator many times over several years, but never received a reply, and can not reply on that site. Maybe I'm not the only one not allowed to respond.

Banjoman09, I saw an old post from last summer on Classic Truck forum about a '50 F2 Ford you had located. I'm in the process of restoring an old '50 that the body is in pretty bad shape. Any chance that old truck would still be there? And where are you located? ADB

Jerry did you fill in your user name there when you tried to reply? I just had to do that to reply there. Then asked for my password then it let me post. Must be a separate forum.

Yes...and it is in good condition- been in shed for yrs; I would hate to part it out - it is a "restore job"...It is here-West of Wichita.

Thanks for the response. My sister has a son in Stafford. I might have to see if my brother-in-law would make a run down that way to check it out (as soon as the snow birds get home). My e-mail is open if you could share some details and maybe a pic or two. ADB

When I try to log in on Classic Trucks with the user name and password I used so long ago, I get a message that I must be registered to log in. So, when I try to re-register, I get this message: "Sorry, but that e-mail address is already registered to a user. Sorry, but this username has already been taken." Even if I try a new user name, it won't let me register because I still have only the email I've used for ages.
I am far from computer literate, but this seems to me to be a never-ending circle. I would love to take part in the Classic Truck discussions, but I can't make it happen.

Nice Forum...I checked it out...dont think my F-600 would be welcome ? I have Chevy's also so I will try to remember this.
Thanks!
