32 D, 37 B, What are they worth.?

I have a friend who wants to buy a couple of old tractors from me. I will never restore them as I have too many other projects. One is a 1932 (I think) John Deere D. It's within 200 of the last 2 speeds. It is all there but is stuck. The wheels are cutoffs and the rear spokes are filled with cement. The rear fenders have been cut away to clear the 15 x 32 tires. The other one is a 1937 John Deere B, short frame. It's not stuck but is a basket case. It does not have fenders. The front wheels are dished and the rear wheels are round spokes with broken center castings. In both cases he will put steel wheels on them. What is a fair value? He has offered $1,000 each.

From your description, take the thousand each. You MIGHT get more, but where and when? You're likely to get a lot less. Rough, common two cylinder Deeres have really come off in price in the past 10 or more years.

If he really is your friend, take the $2000 and take him skiing for a weekend in Colorado, or maybe a week at an all-inclusive in Mexico. That way it will be a good deal for both of you.

I couldn't do that to friend. Once he learns what they're really worth, from your description,I don't know if he'll still be your friend. A thousand for the pair would be a stretch, imho.

If your never gonna get to them, the be a friend and sell them for what they are really worth. Scrap, according to your description.
get them out of your way and on to someone who might just do something with them. Saw a B sell yesterday, auctioneer worked hard to get 1000$, a very good runner with good tires. gobble

If you?re not going to do anything with them and from what you stated about each one then it sounds like they?re only worth scrap value, if this guy is your friend I would just let him have them at scrap value, friends are too valuable to make a killing on, now if it was a complete stranger that just had to have them and made an offer like that then that?s a whole different game, I?d say sold then.....

Do you remember what you paid for them? Unfortunately, today they probably are not worth anywhere close to what you paid for them.

If he has offered that then he has some Idea of the scarceness and value of them and sees a show tractor when done over. Not like a pile of junk most are seeing. The 2 speed D are very scarce and a 37 B only slightly more of them. For every 37 B there would be a thousand late styled B's out there and I think most are compairing that 37 to a 50 B in value. And as a working tractor not a trailer queen.
