Craigs list ( again)....

Simple question: Why do people think that In Search Of ads are an excuse to pawn off their overpriced junk? I put an ad up yesterday looking for a 1-3 ton bulk bin. I have already had ten phone calls the highlights of are a bin from an old combine "with small dent in side" for $400 and a five ton with the bottom rotted out for $600. Also do people not know how to read any more I stated with in 30 miles of my location . I've had calls from people 125 miles away. I priced out a brand new Sioux 40 Bu. "mini" bin. They run about $1,200 plus freight, tax, etc. Might just bite the bullet and go that route. Should have known better. Found out same thing when looking at atvs. Ended up buying one of those brand new as well because it was the same price as used..

Rant over,

Where do you live? There's a farm in
Michigan selling some nice used ones that
size with flex auger and motors. Just
bought one today.

Most people don't pay attention to what they read or just read the add heading, others have
trash for sale and want top dollar. My Son showed me an add on facebook several weeks ago where
there was a good description of the item for sale and the guy ended the add by saying he wanted to
sell the item for beer money, my Son was probably the only one who actually read the whole add and
he went and bought the item for beer money price and then turned around and tripled on it. There
are a lot of chicken houses in our area, those bins in top shape won't bring 300 already took down.
I used to think I wanted one but I use auger wagons and they are way more handy for what I do.

There are a lot of folks out there trying to dispose of things that they do not want or have the ability to keep. The ones that get me are the "free firewood" ones that are trying to get somebody to cut down and remove for free. Usually an ad like that follows a visit from a tree surgeon that told them that it would cost a couple thousand bucks to get the tree removed. Then there are the ones that would otherwise have to pay to get rid of something of no value trying to get some sucker to do their "dirty" work. Always good for a laugh!

Another fun one is the one that offers a broken TV for parts. what parts might they be? First, it is already a given that the TV does not work. Then there is the "interchangeability" issue. Parts from one brand of TV simply do not usually work with another brand. Ever notice how many brands there are? You seldom see names like RCS, Zenith, Magnavox, or Sylvania. You see names that you might only ever see in one store. Same goes for refrigerators, stoves, and most other small appliances.

So, back to more fun with Craig's list. Still better than Angie's list.

I'm in central Minn. Michigan is a little far to go. I've also looked into those garden sheds. That way if the birds didn't work out I would have a "junk" shed. But the price is hard to swallow for what they are. Also thinking about one of those dry van semi trailers for the same reason. They can often be had for $1,000+-

LAA: How do you keep the rodents and weather out? Roll tarp would keep rain off but what about rats?

You act like you pay so much attention! Yeah, you pay so much attention that you still haven't figured out that it's spelled "AD" not ADD! Nobody is adding anything! Typical illiterate conservative!

oh its the grammar police!. this is where i post one of those clever internet pictures if i had one.

So because someone misspells one, or maybe even a couple words, or maybe uses the wrong spelling of a word. Even though 99% of people know exactly what he/she means, it some how invalidates their entire post? I am a easy going person, but seriously. Get a life..

It is apparent that few of us here on YT read even the original post let alone all of the responses before adding on another response. Many responses are just completely unrelated to a sensible comment. What is the beef with calling from outside the the given zone. If someone is willing to truck it to me for my inspection on his dime, bring it on!!

IF that little word that means so very much.... Problem is they won't haul it and gas costs money which adds to overall cost. Now I said 30 miles but if they were 35-40 or miles and it was what I was looking for okay but 100? Come on people.

I once had a guy come over 600 miles to buy a $500 parts tractor. When he got here he ended up buying two other tractors I had but not the parts tractor so you never can figure.

Yeah Sodbuster, but it is still their if. If they are willing it is still on their dime. why not? Sit back then look and enjoy life.

I will place a CL ad that is titled: WTB such and such thing

And then the ad itself will start with: I am looking to buy.......

And half of the responders will be wanting to buy what they think I am selling. And they are not scammers either.

If you are not posting in the WANTED section, then these people are trolling you.

Craigslist rules, no wanted ads in the forsale forums. Yes people do it all the time, because there's no automated system telling them they can't.
