A friend of mine has a 4455 and is having a problem with the 3pt. It has a single assist cylinder on the 3pt. The problem is he can not get the arms to go done without applying a good amount of weight to the arms. At least one guy standing on each arm. I am not very familiar with Deere tractors. Anyone know the problem or where to start?

Tell him to that the pins out of the lift assist cylinder and lay it down out of the way. Then see if the three point lowers normally. If it does then the lift assist cylinder needs overhauled. They get rusty between the seals on the top and that make the rod be tight against the seals.
