Farmall cub oil filter

Went to the local Napa store yesterday and asked for a oil filter for a Farmall Cub. The guy said it was $11.58. I've gotten them there before but don't think it was that high. I was so surprised I didn't ask but has the price of filters gone up that much?

The price of filters at auto parts stores seems to vary quite a bit depending on the computer operator and what pricing catagory they pull up (over the counter, cash, vs. accounts that do a lot of business with them.

That being said, I pinched it in at a nearby O'Reilly's store, and their listed price is even higher, $12.99!

OEM FIAT filter # 376373R91 should be about $9 if you have a dealer nearby, if you want "inexpensive", get their "value filter" for about a buck and a half less.

Probably about right. Remember, its not a car filter-it fits a 40+ year old tractor and they don't sell as many of them.

Every time I go to the hardware store to buy some little "part" for something, I am amazed at prices compared to the last time I bought the same thing. Over the past two months, two things come to mind. First, the little flush handle/arm for the toilet tank and then a small light bulb socket assembly for a lamp. Can't remember the exact prices but when I come home complaining, my wife tells me to get with the 21st century and stop living in the past.
