WAY OT YOUTUBE playing politics

So had to say something. I'm officially done with Youtube. Deleted my acounts and all links. They are playing politics. Deleting conservative channels Gun channels and even some farm and "homesteading channels have been "striked" or out right deleted. If any one knows of an alternative site I'm all ears. I've already loked at gun tube but want to a general all topics video site.

There might be politics involved, but also how many views they are getting. If you aren't getting a lot of hits, they are pushing them out. Its been discussed a lot, even on this board.

Its bs because many of the channels being striked have tens of thousands of views and hundreds of subscribers. And Youtube can't even say its about gun violence and when farm channels (small and big) being hit. I quess I seen the storm coming but finaly had enough. Sad thing is youtube and their parent google is so full of themselves they dont even care that people are ------ and leaving in droves for other video sites.

So why are they pushing out the "Homesteading" channels? Doesn't make sense if it's politics. That kind of "alternative" thing seems to right down the aisle of the left side. It's made celebrities out of lots of folks.

Apparently many of the removed YouTube channels have relocated to Pornhub (not kidding) as a protest against censorship.

Supposedly Twitter and Facebook are doing the same thing (don't have either but heard the complaints). Guess they think the majority agree with their ideals.

I was watching a show a month or two ago and a country singer said he'd released his latest album on there.

Like any business You Tube makes money by figuring out who their customers are and catering to the best customers. You Tubes customers are advertisers not viewers. If companies start to pull back on advertising on You Tube because of the material being aired then You Tube needs to make a change. They could also decide not to make a change and see what business avenues that opens up in the long run. In the end it is You Tubes business to operate and their right to do what they want.

It seems that some of my favorite pro-gun channels still exist on you tube. Maybe they are not going to can all of them?

Well, it's like this site. Consider a website the owner's "home". Every home has rules, and all guests are expected to comply with the rules. The rules can change over time. The occupants can change over time. One day, the home has a lot of cats, the next day it has lots of dogs, the day after it has no pets. It's up to the owner of the home to make the rules. It's YOUR decision to comply by the rules or leave. You chose to leave. If you didn't like the changing rules, you made a good decision. If enough people leave, they might change the rules again. BUT it's their home, so it's their decision.

Frankly, I suspect they are looking at storage space, and are getting rid of "unprofitable" videos and channels to open up space for "profitable" ones. If a bunch of advertisers say "Do not put my ads on a gun channel or a farming channel", that hurts their revenue. So they decide to get rid of a bunch of channels that are filling up storage space that they cannot advertise on. If you want to have some small say, pay for youtube red and watch a lot of gun and farming channels.

I've been on a homesteading forum for years; they are very conservative thinking. Too bad the site started playing with peoples messages, created a big upheaval and all the good people left the site. Don't know where they went, but left a lot of the type you are thinking of.

That's the great thing about living where you do. You can add or delete whatever you want, but remember that nobody on the other end is
gonna lose any sleep over it, even fellow YT members. As a matter of fact, you can completely isolate yourself from everything with a big
protest ........ cancel your cable or satellite and get rid of your computer. Once again though, nobody will care.

Folks said some of their channels showed how to assemble military type weapons, anyone could see these instructional videos from any country in the world, people and groups who hate this country, and are planning bad activities for us. So they were accused of promoting violence with certain type guns. Think they reacted to public pressure of that issue.

A lot of people are so focused on their second amendment rights ,that they?re willing to trample on the first amendment rights of others .A lot of
people are also so strong in their religious beliefs that they think it should be OK to force those beliefs on me ,regardless of my first
amendment rights. America is full of one issue people.

I think this is it also.
With the adder of advertisers can dictate what type of video they want to be advertising in.
They can also require a certain amount of traffic to be following or viewing that channel per day, month, etc.
A lot of followers means nothing when the majority of the followers might never look at that video poster ever again.

The opposite of that is just as true. I should not be restricted from watching something just because someone else does not like it.
When channels such as One Lonely Farmer or Wranglestar are demonitized or have videos pulled their is something wrong. I have found Full 30 but have not yet found a site for "general interest" videos. On the bright side though maybe I'll actualy get projects done instead of watching videos and thinking about it. I have not had cable or sat. tv in the entire time I have been over 18. And have only had broad cast for a very short while. I refuse to support the blatantly baised networks. If youtube wants to follow them into the manure pit I will cut the cable to them as well. (/ rant over....

Wranglerstar is just another shill these days, no loss to YouTube because he?s just self promoting as it is, and one lonely farmer is just as sad.

two examples out of many......What ever I ve moved on as did many others. Youtube's fate is in their own hands...

Sod Buster ....... your comment " I should not be restricted from watching something just because someone else does not like it" ...... Yeah
sure, but what if they own or control what it is that you are watching? Here's an example in reverse. If you find your neighbor leering
over the fence at your bikini-clad wife when she is getting some sun, you can deal with that. Tell her to put on more clothes, or maybe get
back in the house. You could even build a taller fence without any spaces between the boards. All of it is your choice and there's not much
he can do about it. He'll be upset maybe because someone (you) is taking away something that he likes to look at (your wife).

I hadn't been on u tube for wk or more and after reading this post I went on and looked up Hickok 45 who I always enjoy seeing his
videos. He was terminated for a short time apparently but is back now and he did a video explaining what happened. I will have to
check other gun related u tube channels I often watch.

I dont follow what you¿¿. What a person watches on tv (or internet) is not related to what a person does in the "real world" Youtube doesn't own what I am watching. They do control. Sorry I read your post a couple times and I don't understand the question. If I like something and some else doesn't he can change the channel. As I said I have moved on as have many others . I quess I knew the ride was coming to an end quite a while ago but it doesn't make getting off any easier.

I do not have a U tube login, that way I can watch what I want.

I usually check it before tackling car repair.

If you're missing your pro-gun and shooting demo videos, they moved to a
couple of the bigger p#rn sites. (You're welcome.)

Youtube is one of the sites that was used extensively to move propaganda and
fake news from content creators into facebook, twitter, and into other media
for political purposes. Some not nice people were involved in that business.
You're telling us you don't like being deprived of information that suited
your own political outlook, but Youtube may not have had a choice.

Most of don't want to have any politics on our computers. It's one of the
best things about this website. More sites should be like that.

Another thing -

Youtube's ad algorithm must really suck. MOST of the ads I am forced to see are either about eyeglasses (I have 20/10 vision. My eye doc says I have the best vision of anyone he's seen), or about not dipping (I've not dipped tobacco more than 1/2 dozen times in my life and not at all in 15 years). Third is those annoying old spice garbage, and fourth is whatever crap movie is coming out at the time. I surely wouldn't hire youtube to carry my ads, if I had any to air.

Wait a minute... maybe I should have youtube post ads for my custom seed cleaning business, or my organic eggs! Nah.

Nearly all the fake news I saw originated with sites like CNN and MSNBC to name two of the worst. The abundant leanings of youtube are well known and documented, but most people don't realize they are being fed stuff only fit for mushrooms.

Life is a lot kinder if you isolate yourself from the TV.
You can choose what you watch on YouTube, and you can skip over
stuff you don't like in a newspaper. IF you have a TV station going,
you have to change channels all the time to keep the (well, you know) away.

That's an odd way to protest censorship, and an odd definition of censorship.
Maybe they know their audience better than we think they do.
