Landscape rake

I've had my eye on this landscape rake at TSC, but I've never seen one used, and I'm not sure how one is supposed to be used. I'm interested because I have lots of woods, with the result of lots of dead limbs. I'm no longer able to police up these limbs the old-fashioned way, so I'm wondering if this would work to bunch and drag the smaller stuff over to a burn pile. Anyone here have any experience with this device?

I bought one a couple years ago when I cleaned up a wooded area on the farm, Does a wonderful job with collecting sticks & small limbs, wont pick up huge pieces, but does great with final clean-up! I bought a new one, used it one spring, then sold it for 50 bucks less than I paid...money well spent & my back still thanks me!

I use mine a lot to grade my gravel roads ( here is the trick spin the harrows around so there pointed backwards) the hole head will spin around then it will not dig in or tear up the ground

jerry a friend I work for who has a landscaping business has 2 one for his tractor and one for his skidsteer, they do a very nice job cleaning up and finishing final grade before planting grass seed, and as mentioned above a nice job on gravel driveways. it will be money well spent and you will find many uses for it.

My rake is the best tractor tool I've ever bought. From smoothing the drive, dethatching the pasture, cleaning up sticks.....it works great for everything but moving snow.

Looks like a nice one... I like the square tube the tines are bolted to. DO NOT buy one were the tines bolt to angel iron they will bend the angle iron... Don't load it up to heavy and you will be OK

I had a lot of fence row dozed out and I bought the rake for that and for the yard when we built our house. Now I need to trade it for a box blade with ripper teeth.

I built my rake a few years back. I wanted half as many teeth to rake up wasted hay from the horse lots. I can switch from the rake to the back blade using the back blade frame. If I decide I want more teeth I can drill more holes between the teeth and the spacing will be the same as the factory made rakes.

Jerry,

Do yourself a favor and get one with gauge wheels . It will give you a
much better finish doing the landscape work. With out the wheels you are depending
on your tractor hyd to hold grade, a bump under the rear tractor wheel will be
multiplied in the finish work.

I used one plenty to drag rocks out and level ground before planting grass seed. Dad ran it a lot up and down the gravel drive. It will tear up the yard though so I would not use it there. Gage wheels may help control them better ours does not have them.

I have the TSC one and love it. I have bent a couple of tines, they got caught on roots I think. Only modification it needs is a stand to make hooking up easier.

Bought mine new 10 or 11 years ago and have used and abused it doing everything mentioned above (or below if on Classic view). Original purchase was to level a section of our yard I tilled up. It has ended up being my go to implement for the gravel drive. Angle it to pull the gravel on the edges back into the drive then straighten it up to level what has been pulled in.

I added my own gauge wheels using trailer hitch receivers, square tubing, a couple trailer jacks and cheap Harbor Freight wheels. The wheels only lasted a few years and now the trailer jacks can't be adjusted. I replaced the wheels with solid wheels from Tractor Supply, believe they were originally for the rear of a rotary mower. Haven't done anything about no longer being able to adjust the jack heights, the are set where they need to be and I use the lift to make height changes.

I was going to make the same suggestion. You can add ho'made gauge wheels fairly easily. Great tool for a whole mess of different uses.

I just use a couple old jack stands I had laying around. They were the cheap light duty tube/pin type that I wouldn't use under anything heavy anyway.

This incarnation came out the door last Sunday. The frame allows for cat II and III and also can be slid on forks (saw it on here). Made out of salvage and field cultivator teeth. I built it heavy because junkshow recently purchased some wooded land that needs a good cleaning.

Have one love it but i took the gauge wheels off and had better luck that way. Go to land pride website they have manual you can download also go to you tube and check videos that is what sold me. I picked one up off Craigslist guy getting divorced and toys were getting sold to pay for the fun with the other toy.
