Just got to thinking about my 9N, where I installed a temp gauge a few years ago. I don't know how I could get the pieces I need the way parts departments work these days. On my upper radiator hose, I installed a sort of Flintstone-looking piece that you cut a hole in side of radiator hose, then put a curved flange inside and out, and the flanges are held by lock nuts on the add-on branch pipe. I think the original purpose of the branch pipe fitting was to connect a heater hose on a car engine that did not have a place for it originally. Now days, you can't even look up simple (to me) heater hose that used to come by the foot in various diameters.
I don't think you can even look up something like a 1/4-20 license plate bolt on parts stores' computers. They want to know what the car model is like "standard or deluxe?"
Places like W.W.Granger or Fastenal I think still speak general hardware language.
