Don't know a lot about them, Ford used IH diesels 20 yrs or so ago? Is Chevy now embarking on a joint venture with IH? Chevy body on IH chassis?

I have not seen anything about Navistar in a Venture with GM. GM 2500 and 3500 trucks are all GM, although the Duramax is Izusu, and the Allison trans is by itself now. Current GM medium duty are Izusu products. Navistar did try to buy GM medium duty line in '08 before the bankruptcy, but the deal fell through.

Navistar (formerly "Navigating the Stars") was making replacement 6.5 GM diesel engines after GM stopped making them. It was called the Navistar Optimizer 6500 as I recall. Since the US military dropped 6.5 diesel Hummers, I suppose there is little market for them anymore.

Navistar / IH did cast engine blocks for the Cummins 5.9. When I worked at the Navistar truck dealership before 1998 ? our parts manager went on a tour of one of the factories and they had a block sitting there. It should have the IH or some sort of logo on it.

And to the original poster
Ford builds and uses there own Diesels since now

They will have the Duramax diesel in them. The dealership has an older roll back with the Duramax in it. It will flat out fly with 2 cars on it. It does not ride as nice as the ford it replaced.

Interesting, for a while Ford and IH Medium duties were made by Blue Diamond in Mexico which was a partnership Between Navistar and Ford, Ford resumed production of their own trucks a few years back and dissolved Blue Diamond.
