1959 Massey Fergusen TO35

I need to replace the rubber boot between the Clevis and the retainer nut. I am not sure how the clevis is attached to the control spring plunger. is the plunger pressed into the clevis or screwed together? Any help with this would be appreciated.

The clevis is screwed on.

I could not find a way to hold the rod from turning, ended up cutting the rod with the Sawzall reaching between the spring coils.

But having means to make a new rod made the decision to cut it easier...

I ended up cutting mine as well. I welded mine back together but I see you can buy them for like $16 from this site.

If you go down to the MF there's a thread from fixt addressing the same thing on a MF 65.
