(quoted from post at 13:24:27 03/01/18) Neighbours had one years ago, but theirs was yellow. What does the A signify?

Ben

The TD-14A is apparently a "new and improved" version of the TD-14 as explained on the end panel of the box.

My grandfather had a TD-14, I always thought it was the neatest thing being there when he started it up. I had a gas pony motor that you started then switched it to diesel and it would put big black smoke
rings in the air while it was starting on the diesel. Never did get the hang of the cable blade though. Him and dad sure could make it work. They pushed a many field with it before it was sold.

Ran a TD-14 with a Buckeye cable blade a few hours back in 1949 when my dad, the usual operator, had a dentist's appointment one afternoon. Just
clearing out stones and grubs in fencerows into trenches my dad had already cut to put the stones and grub growth into. Found out dozer
operation could be pretty hard work, none of those steering levers pulled easy, clutch lever pushed and pulled kinda hard too. Lot of "jockeying
around doing that kind of work...no long easy rides.

In my other life I operated a TD25 in a mine. Great machine. Was good for snow plowing with the two speed steering clutches. I wish I had taken more pictures back then. We weren't able to pack our camera on our belt.
