Old pick up tires

I don't have any particular place for finding specialty tires.

I just get online and start shopping, see who has the best deal.

Chances are your local tire shop won't have anything in stock, but with the results from shopping and comparing prices, you can give them the opportunity to get you a package deal, if you are interested in mounting and balancing.

They may want you to just go ahead and buy them if they are outside of their regular supliers, then let them mount and balance.

One other thing about buying online, no tax or disposal fee if out of state.

Too bad I have a NOS grip mounted tire left over, buyer of the '49 F1 did not need it.

A lot of those older sizes can be real odd balls. Tires for classic cars you see a boat load of stuff at the big collector car shows.

I would find what the radial tire equivalent size is and get them. I think we tend to forget how much of an improvement radials are compared to bias ply.

Thats what I plan to do when my 59 IH pickup needs tires. Skinny old 6.50x16 tires just don't look right in those big wheel openings. My brother saved some decent looking 16 inch tires off his 2003 Sierra pickup for me. They are wide but should be ok.

I actually met Bob Coker last summer during the great race at its only stop in Ohio. That is something to see.
