I need to put a new bearing in the generator- does the pulley turn off or press off? it is the old original 6 volt unit -- it has an e-clip on the end of the shaft also -- thanks in advance -- Roy

It unscrews. It's normal RH thread.

Yep --I got it off - thanks! bearing was out but the armature is shorted -- I have cotinuity (SPELLING) between the commutator and the shaft --any thoughts on that ??by the way I am running an 8 volt batt -- I guess I am not against switching to 12 volt --

Armature is bad & will need to be rewound or replaced.
