A Canadians comment on gun control

Saw this on line...

In America, citizens have the right to bear arms.

In Canada, citizens have the right to bare breasts.

Where would you rather live?

Ok, boys, one at a time , get in line at the border! Lol

Ben

Canadian rock band "The Guess Who" says American Woman get away from me. So theirs must be a heck of a lot better up there!! LOL

Reminds me of a tavern sign for sale I saw at Florida Flywheelers:

MEN no shirts no service, WOMEN no shirts FREE DRINKS.

John T Proud Conservative Fuddy Duddy who wears an NRA hat

Apparently you never been to places like San Francisco the breasts are just a beginning.Anyway we here in the USA have the Bill of Rights and weather that's fit for humans I'll
take those anytime.

Hey . . even in the over-regulated state of New York - women are allowed to go outside topless. That said, I have seen many who should not be allowed to do so.

So, what happened in Can-a-duhh in 1976? I was living by the border in Newport Center, Vermont. The Canucks were bringing guns across the border in bushel baskets and selling them to us. Mostly handguns but some long-guns too. I assumed some laws had changed - at least in Qu?bec and that's why so came to the US?

The US thank you very much.

To be fair, most men over 40 should be required to cover up as well. Just what I want to see is some dude's big sweaty old leathery fat stomach with bewbs bigger than my wife's...

Your right - some of the women willing to go topless should be required to stay dressed.

Some of them should do the world a favor and convert to nnalert and wear a jilbab.

Funny thread, thanks guys!

I have just stopped watching news entirely, I used to be a news junky. Tired of it all.

Can depend on places like this to keep things fresh and looking forward tho! Nice.

Hey . . long story short. Canada was included in our "Articles of Confederation" but backed out.

So, after our "Civil War", some of our left-over Irish soldiers conducted a little war on Canada - launched from US soil.

After that little "war" was over - one of the Irish leaders moved to Nebraska and got a town named after him.

I am told many Canadians are still ticked off over it. My Michigan wife got her grad-degree in Canada - and otherwise I might not heard of all this.

I have to say some years ago I was at the farmers market in Ottawa and could not help but notice that many attractive ladies do not see the need to wear bras. Not a bad thing.

Wasn?t exactly a war on Canada, it was a war against the British that still hasn?t been fully resolved. The Fenians were just the forunners of the IRA. I highly doubt there are any Canadians who are even remotely ticked off at what the Fenians attempted, it was a non starter.

I was aware of the Fenian raids, it got squelched. All the Fenian Brotherhood did accomplish was increase animosity between Irish Catholics from the south of Ireland, and the Protestants from the north of Ireland. Many Protestants join Orange Lodges, basically insurance clubs, were common folks could buy life insurance, something not readily available to the common man in the 19th century. And served to divide communities for most of a hundred years, phew glad that?s over. In Ireland the hatetred of the north and south, Catholic vs Protestant still continues, but has been toned down quite a bit since the USA labled the IRA a terrorist organization. Let?s leave the past in the past, and move on.

I like your idea but actually American Woman is a metaphor for the Statue of Liberty & the USA. Song was a popular anti-war song during the Vietnam war.

i was surprised when we were in Ireland in 2016 that the police in Belfast still drove armored land rovers with bomb skirts (to keep terrorists from throwing them under the vehicle) and 30ft fences around the catholic neighborhoods.

i remember as a kid in the 80's hearing/reading about the attacks in Ireland and England but was surprised to still see some of it.

i got the impression that some of it is just an excuse for thugs to go out and fight each other and destroy stuff. >like many protests here in the US.

other than a little bit in London-Derry we didn't anything else in the rest of the country.

Make pot legal and let the disarmed peasants sit around happily stoned .

I won't be able to partake in pot once it's legalized due to the dangerous nature of my job, so I guess I'll be an armed and unhappily stone sober peasant!

(quoted from post at 06:31:11 02/23/18) Well, sometmes they both hang at your side. In that case I will stay South of the border.
I remember an episode from Family Matters. Steve Urkel was in Hawaii. There was girl chasing him around whose name was Ka LIK ILIK Ilau. Translates to "Woman who blocks out the sun" lol I thought that was funny

Not a chance we still rehash the Civil War every chance we get especially down here in the South, even have reenactments just to make sure it stays stirred up(LOL)

Didn't Burton Cummings and the Guess Who get deported when everyone found out what that song really meant?

My great great grandfather fought in the battle of Ridgeway I now own the 160 acres he got for fighting in in the battle in 1866 he was a gunner in the Welland canal field battery

Getting back to the serious side here.

No, I'm not offended or angry. This is just an observation on my part.

The US gun laws are not the concern or business of any other country. Just like laws that they have concerning nudity. Not the business of the US. I think the world would be much better place if everyone would mind their own business. You want to express sympathy? Thank you. Want to push your laws or values on us? It's none of your business. I would not think of telling you what laws your country should have.

Rick

Each country is entitled to their own laws. I live in Canada not can a duh,I don't care if weed is legal or not ,I have no intention of smoking it either way. If I lived in the US I probably wouldn't own guns either hard to say. The problem I have is The Donald telling me it's my fault that there's nothing to curb milk production in the US and it's also my duty as a good neighbour to go bankrupt so the US can dump their over production on us. If the border opened to make Mr nnalert happy the US might see a milk price increase for awhile, than herds would just double like they always do when things are good and milk prices would again be in the toilet. Whose he going to blame it on then? As far as guns go if someone's crazy enough to want to kill people they're going to get their hands on weapons somehow weather their legal or not!

(quoted from post at 12:46:56 02/23/18) I?d rather be stairing down a pair of Breast than a loaded 45 cal.

I'd rather have the ability not to be made a victim of, or a statistic in a criminal death. But if nekked people make you feel safer, have at it.

Well said Rick. I'm sure the Canucks would get PO'd if we started posting pics of their PM decked out in Indian garb recently, something that not only made him look like an idiot, but PO'd the whole Indian sub-continent. But that's none of our business and is to be expected when you hire a part time substitute teacher to lead your country.

It is about that time of year when you start to see Larry the Cable Guy shirts again.
