7040 Cab Door

HI all, Would anyone have or know where a guy could get a door for a 7040 Allis Chalmers tractor? I need the complete door, glass and hardware. Bought a nice one well worth the money, just didn't have a door on it. I don't know why it wasn't on there. Previous owner thought it may have been in the barn, but no such luck. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm in Southwest Mo.

Once you get the door back on you will see why it was off! Narrow opening and catch let?s go frequently smashing closed on you when you least expect!

Thanks for the leads thus far, I'm open to others too. I'll make some calls and see what I can come up with. Skyhigh, I've already tried Cooks. I'm waiting on a call back from Springriver at Verona, he has a few tractors over there, but I don't remember if I saw any doors, wasn't needing one that day, so didn't really pay attention to that. Ken, I'll be the first to admit that getting in and out of them isn't the easiest thing to do. As far as having them close unexpectedly, I haven't had that issue with one, first time for everything I guess. I can deal with that, I really like the idea of keeping the cool air trapped in there with me, as much as possible anyway. I appreciate all the help guys.

Look for the newer.steps as well
I have a neighbor who has a couple junked. He might sell one, if can't find one.

Thanks Vic, I will keep it in mind. Yeah, the staircase steps are better for sure. I had a 7020 with those, should have never sold that tractor. Hindsight is 20/20.

Thanks Marloweg, I'll make some calls tomorrow. You guys have helped with some leads I didn't know of. I have called the local ones that I know of. Well no I haven't yet either. I just thought of Austin salvage in Butler MO. Any others that anyone knows of I appreciate it. Hopefully I can find one out of the leads I have now. May have to settle for a clear shower curtain, I sure hope not.

Drawing a blank on the name; but, guy in Redbud, Ill has a couple for $650ea. Just google allis chalmers in Redbud, Ill and it should come up. Just came to me: "Northside Salvage". Sorry, I don't have the number handy. "Dad" passed a few years past and Son now runs business. Son does not have Dad's people skills. I found if he is having a bad day, call back in a couple days and you'll find a much more friendly/helpful guy. Somedays he really likes his stuff: other days, not so much.

Ok mokicker, that may be one of those down on the list a little. Thanks for the lead. I sent a part request to all states, looks like they get 350 for what they call a complete door assembly. I had done a Google search for Allis Chalmers cab door and they came up but it said call for availability. I didn't realize you could go to their website home page and look at what they had in their yards. Marloweg's post made me dig a little deeper. Not to say I doubted his word mind you, I didn't realize you could even do that. I see they have some staircase steps too. I wonder if I could talk the son into an early birthday present?

slade sissom at mid tenn equipment in woodbury tn has the parts and is an allis junkie, this is a sideline for him now but he would be my first allis call.

when you get the door; then contact me for a door shock kit. <tractordoorshockkit.com> 7000 series doorshock kits. tom scheffert!

Many older cab tractors are missing their doors. They got taken off in the summer after the AC quit. For a few years they got put back on in the fall until a newer tractor was purchased. Then they were sitting around in the way, then got tipped over when digging something out from behind them. Eventually they got walked on and the cattle walked on them, and they were finally buried. Maybe you could find it if you went back with a metal detector.
