Spring is near

The pear tree is in full bloom, the plum trees are starting to bloom, the mayhaw trees are starting to bud out, and the potatoes are in the ground. So spring is getting close. We set record highs yesterday down here in the deep south. Need to get the old 246/247 JD planters out and get them ready to start planting corn.

If you keep advertising nice weather like that you may end up with a bunch of visitors. LOL Central Wisconsin 18 deg this morning.

I'm guessing GCMS stands for Gulf Coast Mississippi? Continues to be mid 80's and sunny in central Florida if you looking to get away from the cold. Been here for a month and have another to go.

Cows have backed off the hay ring and are hitting the pasture....Fescue and Rye coming up enough to keep them busy here in N. Tx.

Yep. It is time to plant taters and collards, but is way too wet to think about it. More rain in the forecast all next week.

Blackhole, you were demonstrating my favorite bike-riding position- seated, on a bench, looking at the bike and wondering if some passing pickup would haul it home for me.

Luckily, the bench is only a few hundred feet from the truck. We try to ride about 4 miles when we go. The path around the lake is very flat and enjoyable.

Well the 10 day forcast only shows two days below zero. -11 on Tuesday but then in the low 30s by the week end. Bad time of year to have animals. 40-50 degree temp swings from one day to the need next.

The only Spring that is NEAR are on the car / Truck and my Misc. spring drawer . To day here in N/E Buckeye it is Winter , next week we will have all four seasons all rolled into a week . Nope there will not be any March oats planted this year . Don't see any early corn planting around here if the long range forecast hold true .

Yep spring is near was 71 the other day 36 today rain rain = muddy clay. Dummy the other night with a diesel 4wd was shooting at the old farm across the road had pulled into the field. He went to leave at 7pm didn't make it 1ft sunk. took two trucks and they finally got him out about 11.30

When I used to ride my GT Talera 21 speed mountain bike I "reconned" my favorite trail to be mostly up grades on the first half the ride and down grades the last half, made riding a lot more fun. Best ride ever though was Bidwell Park in Chico, CA...2-3% grade going up 7 miles in Sacramento Valley heat and then that nice refreshing coasting ride back down. Yeah, I know...a sissy's ride, but hey, I was 60 when I went back to pedal bike riding after 42 years of never being on one....self powered that is. I did some real mountain type riding too, but didn't like it....worse than the old gravel roads of my youth on my old one speed coaster brake fat tired Columbia bike.

Drove from Cincy, OH to Bridgeport, WV yesterday, nastiest 5-6" of slushy snow I've seen in a long time. Spring is a ways off!!
