Hi, I recently bought a Cast 430L Italian a Diesel Tractor. With original manuals and extra parts. I bought it from the original owner, he said he bought it in the early 70's. Just wondering what the tractors worth? It runs great and drives nice. Although it needs brakes. I am interested in restoring it for the Delo Tractor Restoration Contest. I will post pics soon. Any history on the tractor or advice would be really appreciated. Li will post some pics soon. Thanks!

I recently purchased a 430l cast tractor. Really needing some manuals and other parts. I can only get the rear wheels to drive, nothing from the front wheels. Can anybody give some some help?

Is there an engage-disengage lever to trace linkage to a transfer case?

(quoted from post at 19:56:39 02/04/18) Can not find one if there is.

Have you gotten it up in the air enough to crawl under and check driveline underneath? A good first step is to check to see whether or not there is a drive shaft to the front.

Not much to see. I found an inspection plate on the side and I can see 2 driveshafts going to the rear axle, one for powering the axle and the other for pto? The bottom is all enclosed. The front axle is mounted directly to to the motor i think. I will
do some more investigating tonight and report back.

If the front axle appears to be mounted directly to the motor that means that you have a combination motor and transaxle, which is the way that many cars are built now. The axle would be driven through a clutch pack which makes it possible for some slippage between front and back and side to side. That clutch pack is probably worn out.

I am not familiar with the Cast brand of tractors, but those sure look like Landini tractors. There are Landini models build for vineyard use, reversible, pretty powerful. You may Google image search Landini tractors and find the same tractor in different clothes

(quoted from post at 01:11:40 02/11/18) Any chance of getting a copy? Just let me know how much!
I have original books and a sprial bound copy. I'd like to keep originals and have more copy made off the sprial bound copies. I'd charge you what ever it cost to have the copies made plus shipping.I don't want to make money off the books. I just like to share imformation. Do you want my to find out what it cost to have copies made or just go ahead and have them made

I would not think it would cost a bunch just go ahead and let me know when there ready. Very much appreciated

I was also wondering if you could help point me in the right direction on a problem. My cast 430 export on has rear wheel drive. Can’t seem to get the front wheels to pull.not seeing anything obvious.

I was wondering how you were checking it. The power comes from motor to transmission to the front and rear differentials. If you have all wheel off the ground and turn both rear wheels and transmission is in gear one of the front wheel should turn. There is no way to turn off the front axel.

I tried dragging some logs in the snow and was a little disappointed when I could only get one rear wheel to spin. Never nothing out of the front wheels. Maybe something is wrong internally?

Does your differential lock work

Yup, that is the opinion that I gave you.

I did try that but it didn’t make any difference . It appears that it has 2 master cylinders for the brakes, I only have 1, who knows where the other one went. The one I do have doesn’t work . It looks like the diff lock pedal went to the master cylinder on the left side sitting on the tractor , which is the one I’m missing, but not sure. I can’t see whether diff lock linkage went for sure.
