does anybody know if you can swap out the 6.6l engine and drop a different engine in a 8730?[/list]

Are you wanting to go with a bigger engine like the 7.5 in a 8670, if so it should bolt up but not sure if everything will hook up or require some adapting.

What's wrong with you 6.6?

i blew it up the 401 was wondering if a cummings would fit in or something else

Ford made their engines and transmissions so that within a pretty broad range various engines would bolt right up to the same transmission. Call Forester's in Chambersburg PA. and ask the guy on the parts counter. Those guys do a lot of pulling and so they are always making engine substitutions. He will be able to tell you right off the top of his head.
