O/t tv show,,,northwoods law

yes good show there also one called rugged justice its about the game wardens here in my state of washington

Yes, I have watched it for a couple of years now. They also have a spin-off with New Hampshire wardens. They are a relief from all the Alaska stuff, including Alaska State Troopers.

Usually Nat. Geographic, Animal Planet or Discovery channels. Between 182 and 197 on DISH. For those of you who disdain cable and satellite TV, you'll just have to read a book or something.

I watch Lone Star all the time. Know a couple of the people on there. Some very brave people on there. Takes guts to walk into an armed camp by yourself. Watch Northwoods also.

Yep, I watch Northwoods Law, Lone Star Law, Rugged Justice and find them all interesting. Although still in the genre of "reality shows," they aren't totally scripted, made-up crap. Animals don't know how to read a script.

First you hate the cops because they seem hard on every hunter but then you realize every hunter up there is a scofflaw criminal that breaks every hunting law.

I'd love for people to really see what LE, be it human or game, is like. You never see the huge amount of paper work required or the numbers games HQ plays on those "Cops" type shows. You never see the Game Warden driving aimlessly around for hours or days in the off seasons or the road cop on a Sunday night in February in some rural area driving the back roads and seeing 2 cars in 4 hours. Police work is 94% being bored/frustrated to tears, 1% actually helping do something good and 1% being either terrified or horrified...with the majority leaning towards horrified at what people do to one another. The other 4% is spent wondering why you ever took the job and if you can hack it until retirement.

Nope, I'll skip all the "cop" shows thanks. Been there, done that , got the tee shirt.

Yes, it sure was boring for the 2 cops in Westerville, Ohio yesterday that were gunned down or the cop in Charleston, WV that was shot but will probably survive. I agree some of time they are just cruising around looking for something out of the ordinary. My heart goes out to those families who lost their ad and granddad (1 had 0ver 39 years and the other had in the teens) I'm not knocking your post in any way but there is absolutely no way I would be a cop for no more than they get paid. Keith

We don't get any game warden shows, but I sometimes watch some programs I'll call "true police programs". They are real stories about real crimes, police work and criminals. The cases don't get solved in 30 or 60 minutes like the TV police shows. Some cases are decades old "cold cases" that have been passed from one detective to another and one day they finally get a break. They show all the hard work and long hours LE puts in to solve cases.

That's the 1% Keith. I lost 3 or 4 friends over 20 plus years. I;m just saying that those shows give a very inaccurate view of what LE is actually like.
