The post below got me to Google {800 dollar sneakers] . Not only are there many 800 dollar sneakers there are thousand dollar sneakers. Maybe people collect these and never wear them . Like a collector hobby. And to think I was upset about the cost of Red Wings.

I've paid $1200 for a pair of Dan Post cowboy boots, $750 for a Stetson 10X beaver, $1600 for a JVC VCR and the list goes on....I don't understand the problem some posters are having about a kid working and saving his money to buy what he wants.

I saw a show on TV(maybe pawn stars?) where someone had a collection of tennis shoes. They claimed they were worth a boatload of money. There is a sucker born every minute and maybe the kid will collect one day. Look at the worn out jeans people buy.

I believe a Stetson hat cost 30 dollars in the 1800s. Now that was an expensive hat but every cowboy wanted one and would save up as they would for a Colt pistol. Stetson University is in my town and I studied Stetson . I always thought if I make it big I would buy a pair of Luchase cowboy boots.

Having said that - I am very disappointed that the market for these overpriced shoes is a generation and poor culture that should more focus on basic needs. But - I am not one to judge.
