The compressor wheel has "left ...nypic.com/2ez2054.jpg[/img] And here, too!

That is why one of the tractor pull rules you have 3/8's bolts crossed in your exhaust pipe to keep the wheel from going airborne. At the big pull at Gordyville a month ago a wheel went through the grill.---Tee

This is why!

A turbo spins very fast; most peak between 80,000 and 200,000 RPM (using low inertia turbos, 150,000-250,000 RPM) depending
on size, weight of the rotating parts, boost pressure developed and compressor design.

Almost lost mine in my 7.3 Powerstroke. It
ingested something, after finding a hole in
the intake boot to the turbo when doing
glow plugs and injector O-rings. What
machine is your picture from?

I have never had but one turbo go bad and it wore out. After a million miles on a C-15 cat. It would not build boost and looked just fine to me. When I took it in they said the compressor wheel was shot. Just flat wore out. The laser etching was gone from time and wear.
New turbo and all was well again. Yes I checked the Charge air cooler as well as all boots.
