1977 Ford 550 backhoe hydraulic filter location?

good morning hutch, just a word of caution from my past experience, if it is a frozen filter when you find that filter DON'T thaw it, replace it with a new one. there will be ice in that filter and when you thaw it out the water will circ through your hydraulic system and score and cut your spools, seals, and cylinders. you will be able to tell when you get the filter off, you should be able to see ice in it. the filter should be located close to your hydraulic tank, usually on the return line to the tank.

There are two. A cleanable screen in the bottom of the reservoir, and a replaceable paper element in the main filter housing. Follow the return line from the loader valve. Four bolts hold
lower housing the head assembly, bolts go in from top. Got one in once with no hydraulic condition, had a mans gym sock plugging the screen in the bottom of the tank, and had been in there
long enough to start disintegrating.

Red arrow shows where your filter is.
