Tractor Supply sells spray can paint by Magic (tractor truck and implement) paint. Anyone have any experience with this paint, any good?

Just about all spray can paints fade. If you have a lot to paint a spray gun, enamel paint with the gloss hardener added is the way to go. I'd use the Rustolium tractor/implement paint, Majic paint is a last resort IMHO.

It has a reputation of being a poorer quality paint than some rattle can paints. If the color you plan to use has red, yellow or blue in it I wouldn't recommend using it. You might get by with black, gray or white.

Within a few hours  of TSC switching to Majic brand paint it got a pretty bad rep here.

I used some Magic 'IH white' on a Farmall Cub Hood. (From a quart can.) And on some Farmall Cub headlights. (From a rattle can.) The finish is not good. It likes to buble. And has problems covering Bondo (Bondo with primer over it. Lots of bubbles over the bondo.)

And it likes to mildew. And once the mildew started, nothing I have tried can stop it. Can clean it up and it looks good for a while, but the mildew always comes back.

I painted the sheet metal on a 706 with magic from tsc,I used a spray gun not rattle cans, it went on great had a good shine, and within a moth, it was as dull as chalk, well I did not learn my lesson , next I used the ag yellow to paint a service body on a truck, I used the hardener and thinner from tsc for the majic paint, again i used a spay gun, the paint went on very well smooth finish and looked good, and the next morning after drying it had turned to clabber, I will never use that crap again

Their rattle can paint takes a long time to dry too.
I've had it take two days at temps just over 65 degrees F.
That's a long time for dust and bugs to get in the finish.

I'm sure there is better quality rattle can paint on the market, just like any product I guess. How does a guy begin to know what he's buying. Brand name means little in my opinion. On the other hand, I don't think anyone should expect too much out of any spray can product, most of what's in the can is solvent with very little paint pigment. Whatever is used in good quality paint to fight UV rays, I doubt there is much of it in any spray can.

friend of mine painted an h with tsc paint in a year it totally changed colors, he has an m he painted 3 years ago with paint he got from napa that sits outside most of the time it still looks fresh painted
