Skid Steer Tires

When I finish up my skid steer project I'm going to spring for some new tires. I'm thinking I want something other than the standard R4. The ones on it now are almost completely bald, which actually works out pretty well. A lot of what I do with it involves driving on someone's lawn, driveway, or street. I'm not a fan of playing in the mud with it, but it does happen occasionally. I also have a snowblade I can use with it.

I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with either of these tires or something similar. The first says it's a radial made by Advance. The second is a Galaxy hulk. I'm thinking the more rubber on the ground the easier it would be on the grass. I have a larger skid steer with new R4s on it. It is pretty easy to make a mess, but it does weigh about 2000 lbs more.

I did find a set of used Bobcat branded tires real similar to the hulks with 25 hours on them, so I guess they didn't suit somebody very well.

So...... Good, bad, or ugly on tires like these?

Ran the one on the bottom on the skid loader at work it spent about 10 hours a day on concrete they held up really well

I run a similar tread to the one on the bottom. They hold up really well on concrete, probably 2x what a conventional skid steer tire will. They still tear up grass however.

jeff a lot of the landscaper guys around here are running the bottom galaxy hulk and haven't heard any complaints on them. the tires on mine are the originals that I got with the skidsteer (case 1845c) . on concrete I try not to do 180% pivot rurns, i'll turn slower and then back up turning and turn rolling forward, especially on grass or dirt, I try not to make a big mess that I'm bouncing all over where I'm working. in the winter of course plowing snow on the packed snow and ice i'll do fast pivot turns.

Those tires look nice and mean. My big Husqvarna originally had turf tires that are close to worthless. Found a very nice partly worn set of Dunlop atv tires at a flea market for a real bargan price. They look better than lug lawn tractor tires cause they are a little narrower and so my machine looks like a minny tractor, not a lawn tractor with a fat butt. Have not had any trouble with grass ripping. Of course a "skid" steer is another story.

I bought a bobcat skidsteer with bald treads and took wheels and all to bobcat dealer and picked up new recaps foam filled for about $900. I gave them my tires and wheels for theirs and after inspection my old tires were recappable so it cost less.

The expensive ones can get flats just as easy as the cheaper ones on my 743B (we have a lot of mesquites, and thorns around our place).
